FALCO is a EU-funded project that stands for "Financing Ambitious Local Climate Objectives". The project aims to remove financial barriers for specific 'breakthrough projects'  by developing innovative financing solutions and actually testing them in the field. The gap that is wishes to bridge is the fact that, although many cities want to focus on sustainability and climate neutrality, they often lack concrete tools, especially in the approach to financing.

On September 5, 2017 FALCO kicked-off its first event and now, four years later, we are pleased to announce the Final Event for the project. A lot of results have been achieved and even more learning processes have been completed. We started with five breakthrough projects and then developed financing solutions for three of these breakthrough projects. among these, two financing solutions have actually already been applied in Flanders. Hopefully the concrete application of the financing solution for the third breakthrough project will also follow. We are therefore happy to share our experiences with you.
